I have an addictive personality, and when I find something I like to eat, I eat it over and over, until I finally get over it and almost never eat it again.  That’s kind of how it was with this smoothie, save for it’s re-emergence this fall.  It’s thick and creamy, and of course has that delicious pumpkin pie flavor.  This is one of my favorite ways to consume “pumpkin pie” since I’m not a huge fan of the real thing (I don’t like it’s texture) unless it’s covered in whipped cream!  Highly-recommended for post-yoga morning walks with the pup.

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
Slightly modified from Eating Bird Food
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup pumpkin puree, canned
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
pinch of ginger
large handful of ice
DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth consistency.  Makes two 16oz servings.
