We’re finally starting to see a change in weather here in San Diego.  Light drizzle in the early morning and the increasing chance for rain.  But regardless of the weather, I could pretty much eat ice cream everyday.  Sometimes even twice a day (but that’s when I get angry at my boyfriend and blame him for my uncontrollable ice cream addiction ;-)).  Lately now, I’ve been trying to limit my frozen dessert intake to just once a week — usually on Saturday’s, my designated “cheat day”/long run day.  But sometimes, fro-yo once a week is not enough (#TheStruggle).  That’s when a healthier frozen dessert alternative like Arctic Zero comes and saves my poor ice-cream-craving-ass.

With 150 calories per pint, 12g of whey protein, and 8g of fiber…I don’t think you can go wrong.  My favorite are the bars (specifically the chocolate covered orange cream) and the vanilla maple pint.  I like topping it with fresh fruit and a sprinkle of granola for my own kind of healthy “fro-yo.”

And I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve seen some many different uses for Arctic Zero.  Everything from smoothies, milkshakes and frozen ice cream sandwiches (using Quest Protein Bars for the cookies).  With a whole multitude of recipes on their site, it seems like the possibilities are endless!

What do you do when you get a craving for something sweet?
I usually have to give in and get something.  I’m a bad example of “needing” sweets.  Dessert at lunch, that’s me.

What’s your favorite dessert?
Ice cream everything for me…and anything with big hunks of cookies ‘n cream!

Disclaimer: I was provided complimentary Arctic Zero produce to sample.  However, as always, all opinions are my own.
